About ACES

The Association of Chief Executives for Sport, primarily referred to as "ACES," is a 501(c)(6) trade association comprised exclusively of CEOs and Executive Directors of nonprofit governing bodies. The chief executives of the majority of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) organizations are members of ACES; however, 19 of ACES's 66 members lead sports organizations that are outside of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic family.

ACES is funded through annual Membership dues and is also financially supported by more than 30 Sports Commissions/CVBs and 20 corporate sponsors. The dues that are paid by members and the supporting organizations cover the cost of registration at the annual ACES Conference.

Annual Conference

The annual ACES Conference addresses relevant topics and best practices and includes a variety of speakers and panelists who are subject matter experts, as well as sessions that encourage interaction and a robust sharing of challenges and solutions. The opportunity for members of the ACES family to convene outside of the conference room is also a significant part of the event's value proposition.

Best Practices

ACES manages 10 best practices groups that each meet at least quarterly to discuss issues and challenges with peers. The majority of the participants in these groups are functional area staff directors/managers who report to the CEO/ED. However, some ACES Members (particularly in smaller organizations) do participate. The best practices groups include:

  1. Membership

  2. Events

  3. Officiating

  4. Women in Leadership

  5. SafeSport

  6. Human Resources

  7. Coaching Education

  8. Communications & PR

  9. Finance

  10. Fundraising

Insurance Programs for ACES Members

ACES provides members the opportunity to purchase Media Liability Insurance at group rates, and also offers an optional employee health insurance plan, which is designed to provide better coverage at better pricing for many of our member’s employees.
